This is the hidden gem of Ella. If you’re trying to get away from the noise/touristy part of this city, 49 Ella is a dream. I almost didn’t want to write this because I know how special this property is but incredible WiFi, great AC, overlooking the mountains, you can see the train over the hills. The birds chirp in the morning and the sunrises are special. I don’t have words for how amazing this place is. A little outside of town, but less than $2 US to get into town. Worth it.

It exceeded my expectations. You are in the middle of a tea plantation WOW!!!, sooo quiet and still so close to the train station. An absolute gem. Susan was really welcoming and friendly. He shared good tips on where to eat and get laundry done, became our tuk tuk driver while we were in Ella and offered a lovely breakfast service for a small extra charge. The view is so gorgeous and he helped carry our backpacks up to the room.
