The villa was unique. It was on the mountain top in a small lovely village. There was plenty of outdoor space with large terrace as well as a lovely pool. The views were amazing with sea and mountain views. Villa has all the necessary amenities provided for a comfortable stay and was very clean. Giannis the host was very helpful and always very responsive with the messages. He even left some wonderful welcome stuff. Village has a small Taverna called Maria's Taverna serving authentic cretan food. A must visit when staying there. Would highly recommend a stay at the villa for a stay away from the crowds yet close enough driving distance to the beach and the main tourist areas. Would love to go back.

The house was very spacious inside, with 2 large bedrooms, each having its own bathroom. There were 4 outside terrace areas so we always had somewhere to sit with a panoramic views and a choice of sun or shade. The pool was small, but plenty big enough for a relaxing swim after a hot day out. Kastellos is a traditional Cretan mountain village, away from the tourist crowds, very peaceful. It is only 10 minutes drive to a great choice of long sandy beaches. There are also well mapped walks in the in the hills around by a group called Chania Trails that we enjoyed. All sounds nice, yes? But on top of that is Maria's Taverna in the village with delicious freshly made traditional food and the warmest of welcomes. We all fell in love with Maria and her family. Don't miss the zucchini fritters or the yoghurt and home made fig jam.

The hosts was baked for us a Big cake (wonderfull) and the fridge was full wines, water and varoius things for make the brekforst and after few days MRS Matula bring us wonderfull pais (Kalitsounia) with cheese.After few days they gave us a choklad cake which was delicius,after that we got a fruitfull melone. Oh the peoples was a marwelles.Then we got a big pot a pastitsio food.That was very very good and Iraklio and his wife oh they both was very nice people,helpfull and the cleaner was doing good work too.When we was our last day we got olive oil,raki and redvine and we was complitely dumpfounded of theirkindness.Everything was good and fine.

´From the begging to the end of our stay Island Villa was excellent! Large, very clean, well equipped with an amazing pool and sun beds area. We were a large group of friends and we enjoyed that the Villa offers so many apartments, so each of us has privacy and a feeling that we were at our home. A large outdoor sitting area with bbq was the perfect spot to be all together having dinners and fun. Island Villa is in an excellent location. Super Market, Bucher. bars, tavernas and the great sundy beach within walking distance. When we arrived we met a smiling and hospitable owner. Nothing was big trouble for him. We highly recommend this place and we will try to come back soon
