This was an amazing place to stay. We walked in and thought WOW, it was a fantastic way to end our 3month long holiday in Scotland. Also in such a small street to have a carparking space was great. We felt like we were at home but better. We also spoke to the neighbour who told us of the history of the wee cottage. Explains why there is a post box at the fence. Was also nice that it has a small outdoor seating area. Just gorgeous.

Overlooking Melrose Abby and Priorwood Gardens, Pear Cottage is a self-catering apartment in the historic old town of Melrose. Updated with modern conveniences, it still retains its old world charm. It was clean and spacious. The bedroom was in the back of the unit so it was quiet. The on-site parking was a bonus. Helen Stewart, who manages it for the National Trust of Scotland, was genuine, kind, helpful, and a pleasure to talk to.

Very well equiped spacious apartment. Good bed, lovely shower, quiet area. The accommodation is a bit far from Melrose's center. The road to the accommodation is very steep. We don't mind but if you have no transport it is good to know.
