We were met by the owner, after prearranging a meeting time, at their property. Winni was friendly and helpful, even helped us to carry our bags up one floor to our apartment. He oriented us to the property immediately. The apartment is large - with a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting area, very good bed and linens, good hot water and an excellent shower and a bathtub. There is also a separate room which could be a dedicated workspace and lots of cupboards for storage. We had complete privacy but the owner was right downstairs if we needed any help. The backyard is beautiful and green with a pond and a great view to the hills and fields in the distance. Not far away are hiking trails through the local forest, along what used to be the border area between east and west Germany. Duderstadt is a beautiful town which is only 3 kms away and the owners shared a lot of information about places to visit, eat and shop in the town. It has several beautiful churches and amazing old buildings. It was a wonderful place to stay and we hope to return someday.

The charming character of the house and the thoughtful finishing touches by the host! It was extremely cozy and comfortable. We loved our stay; Brigitte was a lovely host who greeted us upon arrival and ensured we were settled when we arrived. The back bedroom had a beautiful view with ample sunlight. We had fantastic weather when we visited Duderstadt, and the little outdoor sitting area was great for chilling and reading in the afternoons.
