Best place to stay in Caen, by far. I visit Caen regularly to see family. Over time, I’ve stayed in each of the three apartments: all very tastefully decorated and comfortable, an experience of French charm and taste (the owner is an interior decorator, designer, and writes cookbooks as well, the epitome of French flair). Maybe the top floor apartment should be avoided by the elderly as it’s 3 flights of stairs and a little quirky, although quite delightful and benefitting from a small terrace. The location could not be better, within a few yards of the central Place St Sauveur and in the middle of the old town - restaurants, cafes, multiple bookshops (both new and secondhand) nearby (for French reading bibliophiles, English books are scarce), etc… Reception is arranged by lovely Salomé who always goes out of her way to accommodate our needs and provide information.

This beautiful apartment is very new and well furnished. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My parents forgot some of their belongings, but I was able to organise with the staff so have it posted to me, for which I am incredibly grateful. The apartment is across the street from a lovely pastry shop and a 15 min walk from the city centre. The apartment is in a retirement home so it might not be suitable for young people, but if you are looking for a quiet place to stay, then this is perfect.

God valuta for pengene. Jeg liker å ha mulighet til å lage enkle måltider og spise på rommet når jeg reiser alene, det passet meg derfor perfekt å bo slik som dette. Rommet var komfortabelt, med god plass til klær og personlige effekter. Det var rent da jeg kom og det luktet friskt og rent av sengetøyet. Håndklærne ble skiftet etter tre dager, kjøkkenet var utstyrt med det man trenger, og badet var av grei standard, med et spesielt godt vanntrykk i dusjen. Hotellet og gata var stille og rolig, to minutter til bakeri og lite supermarked og fem minutter til butikksentrum av byen. Det fungerte godt med kode som ble sendt på sms, og internett var også bra.

Location was great and within walking distance to many things we wanted to see, especially the old city. The free breakfast was also really nice and the bakery staff were very pleasant.
