With river views, Lion Sands Narina Lodge is located in Sabi Sand Game Reserve and has a restaurant, a kids' club, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. Lion Sands was an incredible experience! The room we stayed in was like its own private villa with every amenity you could want. The safari drives were amazing, and the staff was what really made our stay special. Our guide Albert and tracker Mishak were the best! They really went above and beyond to make sure we saw every animal possible, and were so knowledgable and fun to be around. Emotion was our waiter the whole time and he always made sure we had everything we wanted! Fortune was also amazing and helped us with our camera rental. Everyone who worked there was so welcoming and professional.

Skukuza (5.1 miles from Skukuza Airport)
Rhino Walking Safaris is in the Kruger National Park, the largest game reserve in South Africa, and offers an unrivaled wilderness and wildlife experience. A walking safari is combined with a late afternoon and after dark game drive. There aren’t many opportunities to do either one of these activities in Africa. Daryl, the camp manager and principal guide, is a real character in the best sense of the word. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and that of his assistant guide. Getting exercise on safari is not easy to come by and this four day three night trip really helped to overcome that problem. Daryl was a master at spotting game. We had lots of lion and leopard sightings. Seeing them at night was so cool.

Hotel in Skukuza ( 6.8 miles)
Located at the Paul Kruger Gate to the Kruger National Park, Kruger Gate Hotel is located on the banks of the Sabie River. Delicious meals. Luxury in the bush! Very efficient staff.
Skukuza in the Kruger park is amazing, as is the whole park really! We saw the big 5 in 3 days of self driving with kids (8&9) and stayed in Berg-en-dal rest camp for 2 nights and the Kruger Gate Hotel for 2 nights as well, to see a different part of the park. The restaurant at the hotel and Skakuza rest camp we’re both lovely. As a tourist though, in SA, you should always be vigilant when travelling especially with all your stuff.
There was some delay in the pick up from the airport which we had requested. Apart from that the stay was well beyond expectations. The staff was ever smiling, polite and eager to please. The food quality and spread was very substantial even for vegetarians. It was value for money
Let me just say I thank God for nature, I love how the environment of Skukuza is so clean. I enjoyed the game drive with our amazing driver Lucky from Buschbuckridge lodge. I love that there are all the amenities you need like restaurants and including a petrol station.
If you’re thinking of booking this hotel, stop thinking and do it. The accommodations were absolutely incredible. The staff was so friendly & helpful. We took 1 game drive with them and it was a 200/10. Our guide, Elvis, did everything in his power to help us find the Big Five & I’ll never forget him & his knowledge. Get to Kruger Gate Hotel now!!
Very good upmarket hotel with well equipped luxury rooms and facilities. Dinner and breakfast included in the rate and both were exquisite. Friendly and helpful staff to assist from the moment you arrive till the moment you leave. I can highly recommend a planned holiday to this hotel which is situated only a few hundred metres away from the Kruger Gate leading to Skukuza. Great vacation.
Great park, amazing wildlife, fantastic experience. This being said, it is not a zoo! Don't expect to see all the existing animals in the parc! Some are easy to spot and other not so much, this is real animal kingdom and it's difficult to say who is watching who! Sun sets are also amazing with beautiful colors. Vegetation is small but dense(bushes). According to our guide it is easier to spot the animal during winter / dry season. Bushes hve less leaves making easier spotting animals and the animals gather around the water spot. During summer it is the opposite. Bushes are more dense and r'there is water everywhere making animal spotting more difficult. So an advice: winter is great for animals but of course temperature are lower so be prepared for low temperature and bring some warm clothes.
