Just 1 mile from the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, this Tuscumbia hotel offers spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. It features an on-site gym and outdoor pool. My friend and I really liked Kennedy, at the front desk. She met us when we came in and helped us with our bags and offered suggestions on where to eat and what to see. Very personable. Breakfast was ok--food was good but no variety when you stay for more than one day--same exact food each day.

The 4-star Marriott Shoals Hotel & Spa is located on the Tennessee River and offers a lagoon-style outdoor pool, revolving restaurant with panoramic river views and rooms with 32-inch LCD TVs. Beautiful and very comfy. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The pool was exceptional. Swampers’ breakfast buffet was excellent if a little expensive. Our room was clean and quiet. I had an amazing night’s sleep.

The Hampton Inn & Suites-Florence Downtown features an indoor pool and rooms with free Wi-Fi and a 48-inch flat-screen TV. The University of North Alabama is 1.2 miles away. Missed breakfast by 20 mins but the staff still provided muffins, coffee, fruit and serial with no prompting

The lobby/bar open concept was the perfect place for us to gather. We were 16 guests and booked 8 of the rooms! Everyone loved their room and we learned so much about the history of the area, the room and why it was the room it was...learning about the history, artists, designers, architects, etc. that put their touches on each room. The staff was extremely professional, friendly and super chill. Great bartenders and gracious host. We loved every minute of our weekend. Even the SEVERE thunderstorm added to the experience. What a lovely, fun place.
