This was the nicest place we could find near Chake Chake town. It was peaceful. The room was basic but comfortable and had what we needed. And the view from the front porch was beautiful. The food was really excellent! They served beer, too. The staff was unfailingly helpful and cheerful and kind.

Restaurant's food was delicious. This is the type of exquisite place you want to be. Not only they treat you like the most important person of the hotel, but they help a lot the comunity of the village around. I absolutly recomend this hotel!

Located near the village of Makangale in North Pemba, Gecko Nature Lodge Home of Swahili Divers the BEST dive center and Famous Gecko Restaurant features a dive centre. A home away from home. The place is very remote and quiet. For nature lovers, it is a real paradise. Coconut crabs right on the property and many bush babies around at night. Food is excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. We went there to do our scuba certification and Mike the owner is the best teacher you can have. We stayed a week but wish we could have stayed longer.
