U Suites on Rongotai Rd offers accommodations in Wellington, 2 miles from Basin Reserve Cricket Ground and 2.2 miles from National War Memorial. U Suites on Rongatai Road was fantastic. We booked quite last minute as our flight had been cancelled and we needed somewhere close to the airport to stay for the evening. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. We were close to a bus line that went straight into the city so that we could explore before our flight left the next day. It was also close to a bus stop that the airport express bus also stopped at. Very pleased :-)

Nestled in Kilbirnie, Brentwood Hotel offer spacious accommodations only 1.6 mi from Wellington Airport and 10 minutes’ drive from Wellington’s CBD. The room was really large and the room service breakfast was reasonable in price and delicious. The staff was really nice. It is an older hotel and the furnishings though clean and comfortable are not fancy. There was no air conditioning, but that is not uncommon for New Zealand and the windows opened and gave a nice breeze.

We thought Wellington was a beautiful City. We were there in late March. The weather was lovely and cool, just the right temperature if you like to explore a new location on foot. The bus system in the City is brilliant. The Metlink public transport card system can be a little intimidating but once you master it, it works exceptionally well. Otherwise, you can pay cash when travelling on the buses or trains, but it is quite significantly more expensive to pay this way. Also, it pays to check out the fare before you travel and have the correct money when getting on because nearly everyone uses the prepaid Metlink card so the driver has limited change. The seafood in New Zealand is the best in the world in my opinion. If you are staying centrally and have cooking facilities, I would recommend the Seafood Market in Lambton Quay or Cuba Street. It is not a huge shop but the fish comes in daily. Their fish and chips are pretty good as well. But there are plenty of seafood restaurants around that serve great food. Wellington is a a gorgeous city and reminded me very much of San Francisco.
This property is not in Island Bay. The hosts are terrible, rude and liars. The house is beautiful, run down but still a gorgeous place to stay. I would never go back if Hieu and Huong were managing this and could not in all honesty recommended it. Such a shame really. Can't wait to hear back from you guys. Shameless
Bus rides and train rides are awesome, just get yourself a Snapper card and more than one person can travel with that one card. Only one person can travel on that card on trains. Travelling in bus was also good, no hassle to driving or parking, bus service are almost everywhere till late nights and safe environments.
We stayed in a quirky hotel on Cuba St and suited the area it was situated in. Lots of funky boutiques and shops as well as great restaurants. Easy to walk around the city centre with heaps of interesting things to see and do.
I enjoyed how close everything was to the hotel and how easy it was to walk to the places I wanted to see. The waterfront was nearby too. I did go by uber to Zealandia which was amazing and is a great place to visit.
Fun vibrant city easy access to all attractions by foot around the central city, easy bus trip to local beaches or walking distance in the main city area. Airport within 10 min drive to central city. Local parks easy drive or walk or bus. If staying in the city great shopping and local restaurants are easy to access. Local pools are on hand and only a small trip via car or bus. Local supermarkets are handy and have everything you require. Great local pubs and bars for a night out on the town all within walking distance to you accommodation if staying in town. Loads to do in Wellington like visiting the Bee hive, cable car, Te papa, local markets, local gardens, and much much more. Loads of free stuff to do also (we visited the Marvel event being held in wellington). Wellington is the place to visit for a weekend away with friends, short holiday with the kids you won’t be disappointed. Do your research before you go and plan your trip as there is so much to see. Have fun and enjoy Wellington.
We booked the hotel while at Wellington Airport after our flight was diverted there in the evening due closure of Auckland Airport due to flooding. The Oaks location was close to the CBD and harbour. The rooms were clean, quiet and had good quality linens. There are many nearby restaurants and attractions. The staff were extremely helpful relocating us to a room with 2 beds when one became available.

Just walk shortly from Blueridge Ferry, crossing the road and Hotel Waterloo is at the corner at the other side of the road. In the morning we ve just walking 2-3 minutes to find the bus to Wellington Airport.
