What you need to spend the day making excursions and hiking around the island. Rooms and beds are super comfortable, warm and welcoming. Even if as an Italian prices in Iceland are quite high for me, I found the price very fair and the service outstanding. Don’t miss your chance to stay at the Básar Guesthouse while on the island. A diamond inside a larger diamond that is Grimsey.

Surrounded by a fjord in the northern town of Siglufjördur, this hotel is 100 metres from Adalgata main street and 17 km from Ólafsfjördur town centre. Our double room was quiet and a good size with 2 chairs, little table and a desk. Loved the eclectic style. Very comfortable. Tea and coffee available in the dining room. A great hotpot which we didn't get time to use. Very helpful staff.
