Spa Hostel Kunnonpaikka is located in the Finnish Lake District, 10 km from central Kuopio. Free parking as well as free pool and gym access are offered. The breakfast was very good. The gyms downstairs had everything for a good workout, cool vintage equipment. The spa was clean and had a unisex steam sauna, which was a plus. We stayed during weekend and the atmosphere was lively, there was music and lots of people. Free parking space in front of the hotel and some 10 minutes drive to downtown. Short drive to Puijo tower. There were also bus stops nearby if one doesn't have a car. We enjoyed our stay, thank you!

Once you get away from the owner and get to the little holiday homes, the situation improves immensely. Just don’t ask for anything special (like a baby bed), or prepare to be mansplained to and told why you don’t need one.

Peacefully situated by Lake Iso-Valkeinen, this hotel is 5 km from Kuopio. It has a lakeside sauna complex. A free parking space is found by each room. Good hotel with quite good location (it was suitable for us, 5 min by car from Sorsasalo Ravirata where was a Dog Show we visited), comfortable room with normal beds. Usual continental breakfast a bit monotonous nut quite nutritious... Nice lake and good sauna near it. Parking is right in front of the room is very comfortable. Good restaurant in main building with good meal and drinks.
