Absolutely loved the character and charm of the hotel, the facilities, the lounge area for breakfast/evening drinks, ease of use of the washer/dryer that was there. The hotel was in a quiet residential section of Kyoto, yet access to Nijo Castle, the Imperial Palace and downtown Kyoto was very easy and within a 15 minute walk. Access to the train stations and Uber/Taxi's were equally easy. Amazing local restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel - highly recommend Daigan around the corner for an amazing sushi with an engaging/entertaining/welcoming chef.

BenTen Residences biedt accommodatie in Japanse machiya in het hart van Higashiyama, Kyoto. Het heiligdom Yasaka ligt op 7 minuten lopen en de Kiyomizu-tempel ligt op 14 minuten lopen. This was exceptional accommodation and a wonderful stay. We were met by the manager who gave us detailed information about the property; in addition there were clear written instructions regarding the various appliances. Of particular interest to us were the washing machine/dryer, the water heater and the room heater controllers. Each worked beautifully and with the space, 2 bathrooms and underfloor heating throughout, we had every facility we could have wanted. The home is furnished beautifully and the beds and bedding were first class. The daily service provided at Ben Ten is also wonderful - every day the bathrooms were cleaned, our towels were replaced and rubbish was removed. In addition, the location of the property is amazing - in the heart of old Kyoto/ Higashiyama and just a few blocks from Gion; a 2 minute walk to a great bus route; and within 5 minutes walk of 3 convenience stores and a supermarket!!! To end our stay, the manager arranged for a taxi for us and came to help us with instructions to the taxi driver. This is impressive accommodation with great service and we unreservedly recommend it.

Situated in Kyoto, 500 metres from Kyoto International Manga Museum,Kyoto Machiya Fukune is an accommodation with a garden. The accommodation has a hot tub. Spacious, clean, beautiful and practical. Excellent value for money. Remarkable got baths, midi garden / plants. Lots of room, comfortable bed. Good location.

Het Mulan Hostel is geopend vanaf mei 2017 en bevindt zich in Arashiyama, op 2 minuten wandelen van het station van Arashiyama. In de gehele accommodatie is gratis WiFi beschikbaar. This is the best hostel experience that I had in Japan (I switched several hostels because of my long stay), then I realized the people who run the hostel are nice because they are Chinese people, not Japanese. I always had nice experiences with Chinese people everywhere I go. Unlike Japanese hosts who are super mean and cold to me, the staff at Mulan were very kind, accommodating and caring towards me. I can’t stress this enough because the day I stayed in Mulan was the only time that I could feel a human connection from people with a heart rather than cold hearted robotic Japanese people.
