The food rivals any Michelin restaurant. The staff is kind and gracious. The onsen was our favourite in Kurokawa onsen:)!

Minshuku Asogen, a property with a garden, is situated in Aso, 30 km from Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto, 38 km from Kumamoto Castle, as well as 38 km from Suizenji Park. The property is around 39 km from Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei, 8.8 km from Mount Aso and 30 km from KK Wings. The ryokan features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. We had breakfast and dinner and they were both excellent meals. Meals were served in private dining rooms. Loved the private onsen that had a separate powder room and shower/onsen bath. Also was very happy to have a toilet in the room and not shared. Very well organized place. Best stay during our trip. Very relaxing and private.

Really enjoyed every aspect of the property, We had a private onsen within out room, which had a lot of space and designated separate area's. A really fantastic place to unwind, as well as the choice of being able to choose from multiple public and private Onsens' around the property. The food was amazing too a real insight into the culture.
