Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Kallistefan is a hidden gem in Kissamos, a vegeta place to spend some relaxed days near the most beautiful beaches in Crete 😍 it should be almost new, and the rooms are super clean and comfy! The pool is amazing, the breakfast delicious and abundant and the staff couldn’t be nicer ❤️ We are planning to come back in June to Crete and for sure we will come back here!

RomaniaAside from the super friendly staff and heart warming breakfast, everything about the location is very well designed, a lot of attention went into the interior design and the materials used in the finishes. About the breakfast - it was a delight, rich and really tasty; we stayed three days and enjoyed a bit of variety every day. Also I really enjoyed the extra espresso included in the menu apart from the regular coffee. Definitely on our shortlist for a future travel in Crete and I wholeheartedly reccomend them! The proximity to Balos, Elafonosi and Falasarna beaches makes this boutique hotel a perfect choice rather than driving all the way from Chania.

PolandThe rooms might be a little bit more soundproofed. Also, the lights in the hall should be turned off during the night (they may be turned on automatically) - by the small crack in the door we were able to see some light in the room

ItalyThe hotel is located in an area of Kissamos which is still under construction but this is a minor issue compared to all the positive aspects that you can enjoy there
The experience with this small hotel in Kissamos was way over any expectations. The building, though not happily located (area still under construction) looks modern and brand new. The room was spacious, super luminous, perfectly clean and equipped with all amenities, including a pleasant see view. The breakfast was abundant and varied, with many options also for lactose intolerants like me. Taking aside all these positive aspects, the real plus of this accommodation is the amazing staff, from the cleaning ladies to the breakfast staff to the very kind reception girls, Sofia and Fiorela. Everyone was always ready to help and make my stay as perfect as possible. At Kallistefan Hotel, it really feels like home.

United KingdomWe loved everything.
We had a wonderful, peaceful week at Kallistefan. It's a new hotel in its second season so all the facilities are superb. What sets the hotel apart are the people. The small team provide the highest levels of service from reception, cleaning, catering and management. Lots of delicious choices for breakfast. The location is great too: just a few minutes from the beach (although the pool is lovely) and Kissamos town centre, and yet the hotel is quiet and peaceful.

LuxembourgWe stayed 3 nights at Kallistefan and we got very satisfied of the hotel and the service. The hotel is totally new, clean rooms, with quality equipments, a beautiful terrace with a swimming pool and some deckchairs. The breakfast is good and complete with a variety of products. A special thanks to Sofia who has been so kind during our entire stay. On our arrival, we explained that we were going to miss the breakfast the day after as we had to leave very early for Samaria hiking, and Sofia directly proposed us to prepare a box with bread, ham, cheese, cake... Even if we informed her last minute, she took time to prepare everything with care, what we appreciated a lot. We recommand this hotel if you plan to stay in Kissamos (especially if you want to visit Elafonissi, Falassarna or Balos beaches) Thanks for everything!

United KingdomThe location on the edge of town is underwhelming at first sight but appearances can be deceptive. Everything else was so good it more than compensated.
Modern, stylish and so gleamingly new we wondered if we were the first guests. Helpful staff, nice breakfast, inviting pool. Easy walk to beach and village.

Excellent staff, very clean place, located in a quiet part of Kissamos. The beach, restaurants and supermarkets are within 5min walking distance. Breakfast was tasty. The staff was always happy to help and answer any questions. They know the needs of guests and going extra mile to make the stay very comfortable. I would definitely recommend.

NetherlandsOne thing we really didn't enjoy were the bedside lights, as they were extremely bright and the effect was multiplied since the light coloured walls were also reflecting it. It was very difficult to lie in bed and prepare to drift off by reading a book. In addition, while the shower had half a glass wall water was still escaping from the other half that was open. We talked about this with the reception, as we didn't enjoy having to enter the bathroom every time and step on water. We asked for a mop or sth, as this happened after check in times and the cleaning personel was probably not there, at least we figured as much since the reception didn't offer to send anyone. The reception desk lady seemed reluctant to give us a mop and did not suggest a solution. We even mentioned that the water is going to damage the wooden bathroom doors in the future and she replied that this was not the case as there is daily cleaning. Not everyone showers strictly in the morning before daily cleaning, especially in the summer, so they should strive to find a solution. We were tired from traveling and very hungry so we left to go find some place to eat and agreed with the reception to discuss the matter again after we came back. We thought that by then they would have figured out a solution. When we came back the reception lady was different and it didn't look like she was informed of our request and the bathroom was still wet. We were too tired to have the same discussion so we didn't pursue this further. Water dried off eventually by next morning but next evening we had the same issue. We really did not want to have the same discussion again with the reception so we did not say anything. Regardless of these 2 issues we did love our stay and we feel that since they are a new hotel thlere is going to be improvement by the feedback of customers.
We loved the fresh smell of the corridors every time we exited our room. Parking was no issue. Wi-Fi work just fine. Room was impeccably clean and so were the hotel premises. Bed and pillows were comfortable, the room was tastefully decorated and the balcony overlooking the pool was a great place to relax. There was always warm water and shower pressure was good. We were both able to extremely enjoy our breakfast by the pool. One of us is vegan and amongst the breakfast options were plenty choices for making a decent vegan breakfast and a healthy one at that. There was peanut butter and tahini, all sorts of dried fruits, berries and nuts, oats and fresh fruits and vegetables. We were asked about plant milk of choice with the check- in. They even had a cut avocado and it felt that it was placed because there might be an association of it with vegans but even so it was tasty and an appreciated gesture. Our only suggestion would be to signify if sth is vegan or vegetarian on the breakfast cards. The swimming pool was nice and open for most of the day giving us the opportunity for an evening swim.
