the location and facilities! We walked through the Gorge and wanted to spend the night in Agio Roumelli. the later checkout time was great as we were tired the next morning. We were allowed to take towels to the beach after checkout and use the restroom in the hotel to get ready for the ferry at 5:30. The location was superb to spend a day in Agio Roumelli. I don't know why more people don't opt to stay the night.

Only complaint was the shower, nowhere to mount the shower head.

We had a Partial sea view on the side of the hotel so when booking sea view was not what we expected.

Gigilos is right on the beach which we enjoyed. The view from our balcony was fabulous! The bed was very comfortable and the linens were nice and clean. We liked having the included sunbeds.

After a long and difficult hike from Sougia! we arrived in Agia Roumeli, the Gigilos hotel was an oasis for us! the owners are friendly and welcoming! The room was clean with a balcony and sea view. Thank you!!

Fantastic sea views from the little balcony. Perfect location in Agia Roumeli. The check in was quick and smooth. The restaurant serves amazing food by the beach.

Matresses were hard. But that comes with the village-room style beds. Won't bother younger folks at all.

If you've travelled at all in Greece you'll know what a good, basic, village room is. This is very typical of them. Clean, whitewashed walls, dark wood furnishings and bed frames and a wet room with shower and WC. We had the advantage of a corner room with a nice, big balcony overlooking the hotels taverna and with views of the bay and, from the side, the mountains. Lovely meet and greet from Voula, our host. The room comes with the benfit of free sunbeds and umbrellas on the wide, shingle beach in front of the taverna. Good for swimming and snorkelling. All in all, great value for money. The resort is mainly known for being the one at the bottom of the Samaria Gorge, but it is worthy of a longer stay to explore the bars and tavernas when the day trippers have gone home.

gigolos is very authentic, friendly and in line with the beautiful site of agia roumeli. the restaurant is traditional with nice food.

Absolutely wonderful wonderful location, super friendly and hospitable staff/owners, yummy food and one of the best beach-side terraces in the village. The rooms are simple but decent and that was all we needed in this absolutely magical destination. For this price, we could maybe get two dorm beds in western Europe, not a private room with bathroom and a seaview balcony, breakfast and sunbeds, in a secluded, beautiful and magical bay. Would give it 11 stars if I could.

Right on beach. Room had sea views. Staff very nice. Our ferry was delayed and they offered for us to stay back in the room much later than check out time. Great value for money.
