Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceYou can see that the owner does her job with passion; she was lovely and did everything to fulfill her role as a host perfectly. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was great and hearty with a wide selection of Cretan delicacies.

AustraliaThere was a bit of noise at night if it was windy from a windmill on the roof- we eventually got used to it - perhaps it’s only an issue in the top floor rooms.
The hotel is run by a lovely lady who was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean with comfortable beds and a nice view over town from the balcony. The breakfast available is great value and had a number of delicious home cooked items. The location is central to all village restaurants and shops- a great place to stay.

United StatesI wish I stayed longer and bought more of their olive oil!
Eleftheria and her husband are earth angels. Truly enhanced my stay in Spili and beyond with their hospitality, despite being busy with their olive harvest. The room was comfortable and quiet with a charming balcony giving an eagles eye view of Spili. I filled all my water bottles at the fountains just around the corner.

SpainThe inn owner was really friendly and welcoming. She gave us some great tips and suggestions about what to do on the island based on our schedule and likes - she even helped map out two of our days by guiding us on what to visit and when. We were offered breakfast on the first day which was a nice touch and made us feel more at home. On the last day, we checked out very early and she gave us some traditional Greek biscuits for road. Our room was upgraded so we had a beautiful view of the village from the balcony. The bed was super comfy and our room had all the essentials and was very clean. It is a great location to explore the centre of the island with direct roads to main cities like Rethymno. We would without a doubt recommend this place to stay. It was our favourite stay from our two week trip.

United KingdomThere is nothing bad for us to say about Costas Inn.
We loved everything about Costas Inn. Costa and Eleutheria are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble and they are full of tips for seeing the island. Everything was perfect, and we were given complimentary coffee, ice cream, water, biscuits, etc. The room was big and had air con, hairdryer, a fridge, toiletries and a strong water supply in the shower. We had a lovely view from our balcony over the town. We will definitely stay here again!

United KingdomIt was a pleasure to spend time in Spili at Costas Inn. The area is gorgeous, great for hiking & visits to Agia Galini ,Prevelli, all doable on the local bus. We had a lovely quiet room at the rear of the hotel overlooking the mountains, it was huge & very clean. Breakfast was a treat, it’s served buffet style in the cafe at the front of the hotel - such a lovely setting. The homemade cakes & Jams are very tasty, also a big thank you for the care & attention you gave to the gluten free options at breakfast - very much appreciated. Eleftheria is an amazing hard working host she treats her guests like family, nothing is to much trouble. She was a great help when we wanted to organise days out in the surrounding area’s, Kourtaliotiko Gorge was amazing - thankfully we survived the river walk 🤣 Thanks for the gifts when we were leaving - the homemade raki was so good!! Definitely recommend Costa Inn, excellent value for money.

Costas Inn has an ideal location right in the centre of Spili, just 100m walk from the bus stop, which I really appreciated having heavy luggage! The owner of the inn, Elefteria, could not have been more welcoming. She moved me down to a lower floor when she saw the size of my suitcase and even offered me an ice cream when I arrived. I then spent the first hour or so, chatting with her and her friends at an outside table at the hotel. She also suggested things I could do while in Spili and even gave me a gift when I left. I had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the street and a view of the mountain behind and the bed was very comfortable too.

I had the best service of my life. Elefteria is great and she pay intention to everything. She was also our guide so she gived us all the information that we need without asking her. So when you come you don't have to think about anything. The breakfast is more than fair with homemade cooking. The room was very clean with all facilities that we need and it was cleaned every single day. The location is perfect and Spili is a nice authentic village with great restaurants and shops. The shops are cheaper than the big cities. You don't even pay for water. The water from the tab is drinkable and is the purest water I've ever drinked because is from source of Spili and you can also reach the Fontaine of Spili which is around 40meters from the hotel. We stood 11 nights and it was not in off we will come back for sure but this time longer...

United KingdomI didn't know the hot water was solar dependant, so at the time of year we visited (late September) there wasn't any hot water till the late afternoon- we didn't mind but it's good to know!
Our stay at Costas Inn was fantastic! The owners are so warm and really make you feel like family- Eleftheria was so knowledgeable, she really looked after us! The property is spotlessly clean, our room was made up every day. We had a balcony room which was wonderful for sitting and enjoying the beautiful views and watching the village life. Breakfast was lovely with lots of homemade products and fresh fruit, vegetables, and bread. The village is small but it has everything you need, there is plenty to see and do in the village and it is a perfect base to explore the island.

United KingdomNothing to report. All good. My only criticism would be my shower was a tight fit to get in and out of the door being placed in a permanent position.
What made my stay enjoyable was my host. A very hard working women who liked to keep her visitors happy. My evening meal was cooked by her as well. The Inn was well attended by other visitors mainly used as a resting place for walkers through the surrounding area.

United KingdomThere is almost nothing I don't like - maybe the shower could do with a refresh.
I had the same room for my second stay, but this time without a music festival going on all night! Quiet, clean and comfortable, and more than enough space for one or two people. Eleftheria is the friendliest host (with great English) and she serves the best ice cream too. It feels like a little home from home.
