reception only opens a few hours a day , so for example wanted to go to the beach in the afternoon, couldn’t get any beach towels , had a flooding when having a shower in the evening had to manage on our own . basically apart from breakfast no shotel’service

Description to parking could be more descriptive for those new to the area. Shower had no curtain or door, making a big wet mess. Asked for extra towels and was refused.

Nice clean modern room, free parking close by, good location to town and beach. Breakfast outside in cute courtyard.

I liked the hotel but honestly find it a bit expensive. The suite was nice but 220€ was a bit expensive even compared to boutique hotels in Crete. But Mátala has few good places so this hotel is a good choice. The shower in White Suite has a problem and the water spills out and it’s a bit messy. The standard room is a bit small for my taste. The shower and the toilet is all in the same space.

I liked the White Suite, the location, the breakfast and the staff.

El Greco apartment is on the ground floor opposite reception and right outside where breakfast is each morning therefore it can be a little loud. Being on the ground floor, there are no windows in the bedrooms or bathrooms meaning not much ventilation or natural light. For a 3 day stay this was ok but if we stayed longer this would not have been ideal. The bed in the 2nd room was very squeaky so every time someone moved it was very loud!!

The location of the hotel could not be better. A 2 min walk to the beach, a 2 min walk into gorgeous Matala village. Red Beach is close but quite a difficult hike up and back. We stayed in El Greco apartment which was a perfect size for our family of 4. The bedrooms are spacious with their own bathrooms. Breakfast was fabulous and the staff were incredibly kind

The chambermaid would always leave a sheet to make my own bed and the sheet was not big enough for a double bed. That she didn’t take away my used coffee cup and leave me a clean one.

It’s location, the quality of the room, the style of the room, it’s cleanliness and very friendly staff.

The room was basic and the bathroom a bit small and not very practical with the open shower next to the toilet, but again for a one night stay it's great. If you are planning a longer stay I would recommend a bigger room, just to have some more space and comfort.

We stayed in de regular room, which was perfect for one night. We had a great breakfast. The hotel is nicely designed and has cozy spots to sit and feel relax in the middle of a busy town. Staff was friendly and everything you need is taken care of! Highly recommend this hotel!

Quite a few stairs to lug heavy bags to the upper floor for a 75 year old, but I managed, and, boy, was it worth it!

Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable staff. Beautiful two bedroom suite with two! patios, one looking West towards the sea (and Sunsets), and the famous ‘caves’, and another charming bamboo and tree shaded ‘Nature Space’ one end of which was a sloping bedrock wall with flowers, ferns, and plants. A small table & chairs finalized this magical ‘secret garden’ space unlike any hotel I have ever stayed in. One block away from the promenade, shops, restaurants, and 2 blocks from the beach. Enough to get some sound-buffering (especially after 10pm) from the Matala Beach town tourism noises. World-class included buffet breakfast.

Excellent location, in the centre of town but quiet. Well thought out modern sleek design. Comfortable rooms, great shower good AC. Lovely balcony with sea and landscaped views. Beautiful courtyard to eat breakfast. Good range and choice of foods. Free filtered water on offer all day. Wonderful roof garden to watch the stars by. Friendly family run hotel. Aim to visit again next year.

I absolutely loved this room, but my only concern was no door to close when using the toilet.

Loved the spacious room and outside terrace. The decor is very attractive, and the attention to detail is great. Had everything I needed. Wonderful views to the sea.

Our room was small but more than adequate for a short stay. I personally find director's chairs uncomfortable to sit on but understand why these were chosen for the balcony.

Central location but quiet. The bed was very comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Close to shops, tavernas and the beach. Parking nearby. I would definitely stay here again.

The mattress was very hard! 2 pillows per person, 1 was extremely hard and the other paper thin and lumpy. It didn’t make for a great sleeping experience.

This is a gorgeous little spot to stay. It is clean, roomy, beautifully decorated and in a terrific location. It is near shops, restaurants and the beach. The breakfast was amazing with made-to-order eggs along with a buffet of wonderful food.
