Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Our room was near the main road and t was tooooo much noise it was like been in the club all night

Location was within walking distance to many sites, restaurants and shopping. Staff was friendly room was clean and and area was nice.

Breakfasts could be more varied during the week but not complaining as you could find what you like. That's an easy fix considering great Greek food.
Great location in the city center close to touristic attraction. Very spacious rooms, housekeeping on point and very friendly and professional staff in the reception. Recommend if you want to see Athens.

Noise from the street. At all times. Either traffic or construction works. But they provide earplugs. Ridiculous to charge 1€ per coffee capsule after you run out of coffee. Same for the water. We had early check out and it was not possible to get a breakfast take away. Nor refund. Really check if you can get a lift in the building you book. But they provide a butler service if you can’t carry your suitcases.
Very well located. Staff super friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to help or advise. Breakfast was great but variety was lacking at some point (we stayed 5 days). Very clean and spacious rooms. 24/7 reception. Cleaning the room every day.

Our room was located in the second complex facing the road (across Ermou) and it was noisy at nights. Μore modern soundproof windows are needed.
The hotel is very clean. The location is in the centre of Athens (Ermou, Monastiraki, Psyrri). The breakfast was nice. The staff was very nice and polite. The room is big and clean. They have a coffee machine with the fisrt 6 capsules with no charge. Also the two first water bottles in the mini fridge are free.

The guests staying upstairs were a bit loud in their coming and going. I am sure if we had made a formal complaint the staff would have handled it. But, we chose to not let it ruin our time there.
Location is fantastic! Enjoyed a fun weekend in the heart of Monastiraki/Plaka walking, shopping and visiting museums. Highly recommend this hotel. All of the staff were exceptional!

The only annoying this was that they didn’t have proper hair and body shampoos in the shower, the quality was very bad and I had to go and buy from somewhere else.
The location was perfect! It is in the very center of the city we didn’t need any transportation we were able to go anywhere by walk up to 20 mins max from the hotel. The room is very good, spacious and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful.

The bathroom could use a renovation.
The service of the hotel was impressive. The staff were helpful and extremely kind. The suites were placed in another building a few streets away from the main building. It had double security doors when entering the building which made it feel safe. The location was central and even though the street was full of traffic it’s just a part of staying in a big city. Athens has so many beautiful places to visit and most of them were easy accessible from the hotel.
