Although TianDe isn’t directly on the beach, Mariola (the owner) has a friendly relationship with a neighboring hotel that is first row, so guests can spend time there during the day. The bar and restaurant area are lovely and the food is yummy and fresh- we tried breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pool is sparkling, and the staff is warm and hard-working. Our room was clean and comfortable, with A/C, tea/coffee, good shower, nice decor. Mariola and her boyfriend live on site- they are doing a fantastic job running TianDe with a lot of hard work and love. We wish them success and will recommend to TianDe to anyone traveling to Zanzibar.

The owners are on the premises every day and will interact with you to help you plan your excursions, advise which ones to avoid and find trusted local guides they worked with before so you don't have surprises during any of your excursions. The owners can also recommend food or arrange for something that's not on the menu - I was very satisfied with those alternatives, super tasty.
