Hotel Os Moinhos is located in São Jorge Island, with views over the highest mountain in Portugal, sited in nearby Pico Island. the grounds and views were amazing! nicely kept hotel rooms too.

Dette hotellet ligger 200 meter fra shoppingområdet i Velas og 1 kilometer fra havnen. Hotellet har en terrasse med utsikt over hagen, bassenget og Atlanterhavet. The view was amazing. Location was excellent. Right across the street from Car Rental. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Walking distance to many good restaurants and natural pool. 10 out of 10 for the staff…when we checked out at 6 am, it was raining so hard, the guy on duty at the front desk drove us to the ferry….(we had planned to walk to the ferry, and had not booked a taxi, so instead of letting us walk in the rain, we were grateful for the offer to drive us…he went above and beyond!!)

At the foot of the São Jorge Mountains, Hotel Solmar is less than 100 metres from the coastline. Its air-conditioned rooms overlook the Atlantic Ocean, Calheta Harbour or mountains. The room was clean and very spacious, equipped with an a/c which was very welcome in July. :) The location is great, close by a supermarket and restaurants. Good breakfast!

Varandas do Basalto has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Queimada. With inner courtyard views, this accommodation features a patio. it is really big, clean, up to date products (like no old bed, towels, shower etc). there is a washer available which is really nice. The terrace has a really nice view overlooking Pico. we really enjoyed our stay. We only had contact with the host via message. you’ll get a key code to check in. This is the kind of check in we prefer. You don’t need to let the host know when exactly you’ll arrive. because you can come in to the house yourself. The host responds really quick if you have a question or need something.

Cantinho do Piano is situated in Velas. The property has sea and garden views. The guest house features family rooms. Very central situation in Velas, just 200 meters from the ferry harbour. Stylish interior design. Comfortable bed. Fully equipped kitchen and a outside terrace was shared with all the rooms. Room has a/c.

Retiro Atlântico is located in Urzelina. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Guests can enjoy a meal on an outdoor dining area while overlooking the sea... We absolutely loved our entire stay at Retiro Atlantico! The yurts are quite spacious and comfortable, the bathrooms are a few steps away and have everything you may want/need, all while being surrounded by nature. We took advantage of and loved the communal kitchen, and appreciated the daily breakfasts. Natacha and Hugo were great hosts, providing suggestions and tips. We hope to be back one day!

Quinta da Magnólia AR is situated in Urzelina and has a private pool and pool views. There is a private entrance at the farm stay for the convenience of those who stay. Room was spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable, staff were very helpful and polite, pool area was amazing.

A good location for a hassle-free getaway in Urzelina, Casa d'Avó Guesthouse and Apartment is a farm stay surrounded by views of the mountain. The staff is really friendly! It is great having access to the shared kitchen and there were self-made cookies available that were delicious. The view is great over the bay and onto Pico. It’s a calm area with several places to eat around and the local fishers just down the street fishing.
