Fish options cool too (coming from Sweden – wot? no pickled herrings? – vive la différence).

Located right in the city centre of Oslo, Amerikalinjen is a vibrant boutique hotel named after the 19th century cruise ship line of the same name. Breakfast was excellent with extensive buffet. Provided a "to go" breakfast before our early flight. Staff very helpful/ friendly. Room was beautiful/ clean/ quiet. Comfortable bed. Hall door like a bank vault.

In the hills above Sundvollen sits Kleivstua Hotel near Krokskogen, a collection of traditional buildings carefully restored to offer modern accommodation overlooking Steinsfjord. Everything was just perfect. From the staff to accommodation and location. The breakfast was splendid, the view from the terrace was just breathtaking. We got a whole cottage for ourselves - and we even had private sauna! It felt so good after a short hike in a chilly Norwegian Summer. Highly recommend!

The accommodation itself is precise with many beautiful little details that contribute to an even better impression (thermos, polaroid camera, etc.). Also, the communication via whatsup is excellent because they literally answer in 5 minutes.
