Very close to the JR station. The bathroom is spacious too. Staff is very nice. They arranged me on the same floor with the washing machine, i am so happy with that.

The hotel was very clean. The onsen was hot and relaxing, and all amenities were provided including toothbrush, towels, shaving kit, etc. The breakfast was also great and had many options. We came and went by car so it was convenient enough for us but I can’t speak to how the public transportation was for this area. I did spot a train station within walking distance of the hotel.

Only a 1-minute walk from Zao Onsen Ski Resort, Zao Kokusai Hotel offers indoor/outdoor spacious hot-spring baths and Japanese-style rooms. Enjoyed our stay at this ryokan. The tourists info center at the bus terminal arranged for our shuttle bus pickup. On arrival, that has an English peaking person who checked us in, explained everything in detail, showed us to our room and answered all our questions. The onsen was very good. The Japanese kaiseki dinner was outstanding as was the breakfast the following morning. The staff were very attentive and helpful.

The staff was welcoming and always willing to help despite they do not speak English, it seems to be more oriented to Japanese tourists but as a foreign, everithing went smoothly.
