This family owned hotel is located at 3,8 kms away from Godafoss waterfall, and offers modern guest rooms with private bathroom. Free private parking is available. If your main goal to see the northern lights, this is the best place you can imagine. The sky is dark, no sources of light pollution around, mountains aside are not tall, so you see the sky from left to right without obstacles. We had chance to see beautiful northern lights, and it was awesome. Just use one of two large spaces on the road that lead to the hotel, there are the darkest spots for observing. Hotel is very clean and soundproof. Good breakfast.

Speaking of the room it is quite spacious and the shower has some nice water pressure. The complete hotel facility was clean and well managed! The breakfast buffet is adequate, there is a good amount of choice and the food and drink is of high quality. The bed is comfortable and the provided pillow lead to some restfull sleep.

This family-run Country Hotel´s rooms include tea/coffee facilities, a patio and panoramic views of Skagafjordur. Everything! What a wonderful hotel! We stayed for one night. The room was big and comfortable with a small balcony. The bad was king size which is not common in Iceland and it was very comfortable. The dinner (which has to be preorderd) and the breakfast were great with good variety. The staff was really nice and helpful. This is a good place to see the northern lights.
