In the heart of Westport town centre in County Mayo, along the Wild Atlantic Way, one of Ireland's most beautiful and scenic locations, this boutique hotel offers 34 beautifully presented bedrooms, a... The Mariner is excellently located in the town of Westport. It is new (or newly renovated) and is very clean and comfortable. We had breakfast on both days and there was a great choice of excellent food. The staff were friendly and cheerful. They have a full time reception so checkin was easy. We used it as a base to climb Croagh Patrick and visit the local pubs and restaurants which were great.

You can enjoy cozy evenings from the conservatory with an astonishing view over the shore! All staff were very friendly, nice to chat to and gave us tips of what to do during the day. This part of Mayo doesn't seem to be too busy/touristy, so you can enjoy the landscape during a nice hike or a day at the beach.

Located next to Ashford Castle, The Lodge at Ashford Castle is set on 10 acres of grounds, overlooking Lough Corrib in Cong. Their shuttle service between points on the estate was a wonderful service and greatly appreciated. The Hawk Walk was a very special experience made even better by a warm welcome from Yvonne and by our lovely guide Neamh. The meals at The Lodge and at Cullens on the grounds of the estate were excellent.
