The Killeshin Hotel is one mile from Portlaoise and junction 16 off the M7 motorway. It offers a bistro, an indoor pool, hot tub, a gym and free parking. Julia at the reception made us feel very welcome and made the check in very easy, she explained everything well. There was a Polish lady working Saturday night around public areas who was very helpfull too, these two are a credit to the hotel!

The Midlands Park Hotel is a luxurious 4-star property located in the centre of Portlaoise and a 5-minute walk from the train and bus station. All fine. Great location. Friendly staff. Food very good.

Located in Mountmellick and only 22 km from Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre, Summergrove House provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. The breakfast was freshly prepared with local produce and served on beautiful crockery. The beautiful Georgian house is in the most tranquil setting.

The Yoke has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Ballybrittas, 16 km from Athy Heritage Centre-Museum. Very friendly welcome from the owner, big bathroom and lovely room…there was Porridge, Croissants and fruits in the room for breakfast. Really a good place to stay and close to Dublin.

Set 31 km from Athy Heritage Centre-Museum and 34 km from Kilkenny Railway Station, Preston House features free WiFi and units equipped with a kitchen, terrace and seating area. Amazing unusual more then 200 years old house with lot of common space on the ground floor (dining area with bar, kitchen and two tea rooms). The host Ross was more than helpful and welcomed us with his dog. The house is located in the tidy heritage town with an great local pub "Morrisey's" just a 5 min by walk from house. I can fully recommend this accommodation.

Offering a garden and garden view, LittleField B&B Durrow, Laois is situated in Durrow, 28 km from Kilkenny Railway Station and 29 km from Kilkenny Castle. Very clean and nice rooms. Jaime ,the owner was very friendly and helpful as well as telling us about Irish culture. we enjoyed greatly our stay
