The Killeshin Hotel is one mile from Portlaoise and junction 16 off the M7 motorway. It offers a bistro, an indoor pool, hot tub, a gym and free parking. Julia at the reception made us feel very welcome and made the check in very easy, she explained everything well. There was a Polish lady working Saturday night around public areas who was very helpfull too, these two are a credit to the hotel!

The Midlands Park Hotel is a luxurious 4-star property located in the centre of Portlaoise and a 5-minute walk from the train and bus station. All fine. Great location. Friendly staff. Food very good.

The 3-star Abbeyleix Manor Hotel offers a relaxing and ideal base to explore the hidden beauties of County Laois and the Midlands of Ireland. Excellent breakfast with happy friendly staff .The whole experience was amazing.Spacious bedrooms and lounges which were very cosy and comfortable. Location just.at the edge of Abbeyleix was very peaceful. Reception staff very heloful too and friendly.. We will certainly return..

Set within private gardens, guests may enjoy the on-site features including a leisure centre, award-winning spa, and on-site bars and... staff were absolutely amazing from beginning to end! absolutely amazing stay. food and drinks were spectacular

The Maldron Hotel is just off junction 17 of the M7 motorway, only 5 minute’s drive from Portlaoise town centre and O'Moore Park. It boasts a 20-metre pool, free Wi-Fi, free parking and a gym. Room size was great value for the rate

Located in Mountmellick and only 22 km from Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre, Summergrove House provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. I highly recommend Summergrove House. This place is spectacular. I wish we had stayed 2 nights. James was wonderful and very passionate about the house. I think he did most of the restoration himself and it appears he runs the place himself. It was really a special experience. The house is beautifully furnished and the grounds are big, lush, and green. James cooked us our breakfast while we all sat in the kitchen at a big table. He greeted us on the front steps and had drinks ready in the drawing room. We had a 2 room suite and it was over the top fun to stay in them! I would stay here again any day.

The Yoke has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Ballybrittas, 16 km from Athy Heritage Centre-Museum. Very friendly welcome from the owner, big bathroom and lovely room…there was Porridge, Croissants and fruits in the room for breakfast. Really a good place to stay and close to Dublin.

Offering a garden and garden view, Kearney's Cottage B&B is located in Killenard, 18 km from Kildare Town Heritage Centre and 23 km from Athy Heritage Centre-Museum. The loveliest B&B with the nicest most welcoming family. Can’t recommend it enough!

Set 31 km from Athy Heritage Centre-Museum and 34 km from Kilkenny Railway Station, Preston House features free WiFi and units equipped with a kitchen, terrace and seating area. Oh my goodness, where do I start?. This is an absolutely stunning little property that is being maintained to retain its authentic Victorian character. Our bedroom complete with ensuite, which is often not the case in older, heritage properties, was a fantastic size, furnished with period style pieces and screamed quality. No expense has been spared by the owner in terms of the quality of the bed and bedding and I really want the name of his cleaner. The place was absolutely spotless, even though there would appear to be a bit of building and maintenance work ongoing. The owner Ross, is a lovely and committed host whose only concern is that guests have a great experience. I will most definitely make a point of going back to this beautiful, luxury but very affordable accommodation.

Offering a garden and garden view, LittleField B&B Durrow, Laois is situated in Durrow, 28 km from Kilkenny Railway Station and 29 km from Kilkenny Castle. Littlefield was excellent. The staff was excellent. Beautiful area very quiet breakfast was excellent
