Hotel exceeded all out expectations. All staff are friendly, polite and professional. They helped us with all our additonal requests and questions. Hotel is spotless and rooms are nicely decorated. It seems that renovation was done recently. Hotel offers additional activities like free yoga classes and bike rental (with a fee), and offers healthy options in the restaurant. We also loved breakfast and dinner. There are enough options for everyone to choose from, and there is a very nice space to accomodate all guests even in the most crowded time. Food is tasty and fresh and coffee is excelent since it's prepared from real coffee beans (not an instant coffee as in most hotels). Hotel is quiet, relaxing and has a nice sea view. Famous sea promenade is 2 minutes away and the main bus station about 10 minutes walk. All in all we loved our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. If we visit Opatija in the future we will definitely choose hotel Istra again.

The best ist their kids entertainment program - the hotel is very well prepared for families with small children (even with babies) and the kids entertainment team was not nothing but amazing. Thank you Anja and team! And their friday evening kids show is in reality a theatrical dance show! A must watch!
