Expensive? Yes! However, worth the extra money. Breakfast was excellent and all the stuff is amazing.

Apartment was very large and had SMEG equipment, very nice touch.

Av. do Infante is a nice area of Funchal -- in comparison, Estrada Monumental feels a bit like "tourist hell." Staff was polished and very friendly and helpful overall.

For breakfast, you could choose from 5-6 warm meals (eggs, French toast, asparagus..) and a cold buffet (from cereals, croissants and local cheese to pastel de nata). The portions from the menu were smaller but in combination with the cold buffet, the breakfast was just awesome! We stayed in the with the "garden view ", however we could still see and hear the sea. The view was stunning.

The lobby of the hotel was well appointed with great light and amazing view. Conveniently located with good parking. The beds were super comfortable and the size of the room was perfect. Breakfast buffet was very generous and they even included customized eggs. The hotel personnel were all nice and helpful
