Facing the beachfront, Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin offers 5-star accommodation in Noordwijk aan Zee and features a fitness centre, garden and shared lounge. Providing a restaurant, the property also has a terrace, as well as an indoor pool and a sauna. The accommodation provides room service, a 24-hour front desk and currency exchange for guests.

The location, of course, on the dunes is outstanding. We also loved what is essentially a "grab and go" room service breakfast, with a very broad variety of items delivered in a picnic basket. Food was very good, but we felt choices were limited. The champagne bar is wonderful, but closed on Sundays. We stayed in early April and liked it enough that we came back for another weekend in May!

We appreciated that the host provided towels on learning that it was difficulty to bring them in our luggage. It was perfect for doing our time adjusting, getting to the beach was easy, and walking in the dunes was great if a little rainy. Took a little experimenting to understand the lighting of the gas stove but it all worked. The open shower concept was a novelty. If you're looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. It's a comfortable small cottage, kind of like a tiny house.

The hotel was just beautiful, amazing ocean view from room, super comfortable bed and very quiet. It was very luxurious and shout out to all the staff who were very nice and helpful. Highlight was last night there was a Nobility Ball which was fun to watch everyone dressed very formally with trumpet and drum fanfare as everyone entered. Renting an electric bike was a highlight too and cycling the dunes and to other towns.

This was our first visit back for a few years and I was a bit concerned things would have changed but far from it. Everything was superb. Rooms exceptionally clean, as was everything else. Staff were helpful and all in all an excellent stay. will definitely be back.
