Located in the city centre, Coimbra Vintage Lofts Apartments are in an 18th-century building, 200 metres from the Mondego River and central station. With free Wi-Fi, the accommodation combines vintage and modern décor. Every bright apartment and studio offers a seating area with sofa bed, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. The apartments of Coimbra Vintage Lofts sit in a XVIII century building, whose history has written itself at the flow and rhythm of the traditional commercial area where it lies. Throughout the XX century, the building was a small and successful clothing factory and now takes on a new role inspired by its recent history. The revivalist spirit of the fashion magazines and of Portuguese and international vintage design furniture dates back to the 50s, 60s and 70s, golden years of this small industry. The space has been open to a unique accommodation experience in which one may enjoy the combination of the old and contemporary architecture, of modern comfort and of the revivalist décor.
From the first moment, the Coimbra Vintage Lofts was thought with a special experience to its visitors in mind, striving to escape the boring usual hotel room and offer something more, be it a moment or a story to take back. The architecture of the whole space, matched creativity with thorough attention to detail, adding innovative structures and contemporary design without harming the historical character of such a building within the historical center of Coimbra. The furniture and decor were specially chosen having in mind the revivalist spirit of vintage pieces, specially the ones that take us back to the 60′s and 70′s, most of them of portuguese design but also featuring international pieces. Portuguese Olayo furnitures and Modas & Bordados magazines share the space with Kartell designer chairs and Keiser table lamps.
In the historical center of Coimbra, the apartments of Coimbra Vintage Lofts, are proudly set in a building whose life blends with the commercial downtown of Coimbra and its history of centuries, in a permanent relation with the Mondego River and the University of Coimbra. Our location couldn’t be better, as a part of the genuine downtown of Coimbra a pleasant walk throughout the streets of this historical city will easily take you to most places of interest with no need to use a car. Around us, you will find all kind of stores, supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, cafes, tranportation and entertainment.
