Situated in Shizuoka, 47 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, Backpackers Hostel TSUBAMENOYADO features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. It's my favourite hostel in Japan so far! It is small but cozy. The Japanese futons are nice. The kitchen has everything that you could need. The sleeping cabins are very big! Kosei, the host is friendly and helpful. Staying here feels more like living with your friends rather than staying in a hostel with strangers. A convenience store is right behind it and the train station and the supermarket are just 10 min by foot. I would definitely come back!

Situated in Fuji, 43 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, GUESTHOUSE富士と碧 features air-conditioned accommodation and a shared lounge. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge.... Good value. $20 per person per night. U can get your own room or in a shared room. The facility is very clean. The location is about a 12 min taxi ride from shin Fuji station which costs about 1200 yen. Great value if you decide to climb the mountain Fuji.

Located in Numazu and with Senbon Beach reachable within 600 metres, 沼津ライダーハウスしんちゃん provides concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a terrace. Beautifully renovated Japanese traditional house. Great location for Nomazu city sightseeing and very friendly staff. Good for value too! 😊

Situated in Fuji, 41 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, Kinoya Hostel features accommodation with a garden, private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Traditional looking Hostel close to the JR station, but also offers car parking (and plenty of parking nearby too!). Looks clean and new. The staff are lovely. The rooms are comfortable. The bathrooms and baths are clean and lovely. You use a booking system… do it is private or family use.

Atelier & Hostel Nagaisa-Ura is situated in Atami, 400 metres from Atami Sun Beach and 27 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Perfect location at the Harbour and seaside of Atami, including the beach. Wonderful all day, especially early in the morning and at sunset. Great restaurants and Atami Ginza as well as an amusement area close to the river all within a few minutes walking. The Japanese style room was minimalist but very nice and generous. The host was really charming and I would have stayed two weeks longer there but had to return to Germany.

Tagore Harbor Hostel features a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Numazu. Located around 21 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, the hostel with free WiFi is also 24 km away from Koibito Misaki... It was quite a trip through the Izu mountains on a rainy day to get there, but our expectations were tremendously exceeded when we got there. All the staff members were very friendly (were happy to explain things in English but also happily put up with me wanting to practice my Japanese), and our room was a dream. After going to the onsen to wind down after a day of travel, we grabbed some dinner and enjoyed it from our room - open windows, overlooking the night-time harbor literally right in front of us. The choice of furniture is on point, the custom made shelf/table across the wall facing the port is wonderful and I also loved the warm lighting. Breakfast is well worth noting, the bread was excellent and they were able to accomodate a vegetarian option (I didn‘t specifically ask for vegan though). If you prefer to do your own breakfast, that also works, and there‘s a 24h 7-eleven around the corner if you‘re in a pickle. Overall: The whole place was so well put-together, beautiful and cozy that I went around recommending it to everyone after we left. If you‘re looking for a weekend getaway, this is it.

Cabin House Yado Fujinomiya is set in Fujinomiya, 14 km from Lake Tanuki and 23 km from Fuji Omuro Asama Shrine. Free private parking is available on site. The rooms are fitted with a flat-screen TV. Good management system Not far from tourist attractions, restaurants, and shopping malls.

Set in Matsuzaki, 20 km from Koibito Misaki Cape, ゲストハウス大安吉田 offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. Rustic old house in countryside with welcoming host (who speaks English) and a great communal feel. Bring some food to cook in shared kitchen or barbecue and experience cooking rice in the old wood stove.

Located in Atami, 27 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, bnb+Atami Resort features views of the sea. My stay at bnb+ Atami resort was fantastic. Despite arriving late, I was greeted by the employee Taka at the door, who kindly checked me in and gave me a free upgrade without me even requesting it. I also accidentally left one of my belongings at the hostel, and Taka kindly mailed it back to me the next day. I'd like to give a special thanks to Taka for ensuring my stay as fantastic and returning my belongings to me!
