Once a 15th-century Franciscan monastery, Chiostro Delle Monache is just outside Volterra's Etruscan walls, next to the Presidio Ospedaliero Santa Maria Maddalena hospital. Absolutely splendid location, with a view of Volterra town. It was even better than we immagined. Old monastery has definitely its spirit. Perfect breakfast in the inner patio. Only walking in the corridors was an experience and then the Volterra town was the highlight. Its approx. 20 min walk to the town gate, or few minutes by car to one of the parking lots around the town.
