The owner was waiting for us at the exact time we told him we'll arrive. We got sweets and discount tickets to onsen. I was amazed by that onsen hotel, Infinity rooftop pool, it was fantastic. We had a car, the lake and shops are in a 3 min drive. The hotel is quite old, but everything was good. Clean bed sheets, warm, bright, no smoke smell in the room, silent at night. We were travelling with a 1 year-old toddler, it was safe for her too. There is a loft in the room, we did not use it.

The room i booked is female only, but the toilet, bathroom and washing station are shared by everyone. The room is spacious and there is enough space for lugguages. I don’t know how but we got a special treat at the beginning of dinner. The staff were delightful. We got to wear a Yukuta. We skied at Rusutsu it was a 35mim drive but so worth it and much cheaper than Rusutsu. It felt very cultural.

Although it is not next to the lake, the town is small and everything is in walking distance. Especially the bus depot which is particularly handy when there for the ski season. Plenty of onsens to rejuvenate tired legs for such a quiet town too. A very social hostel with a cozy communal space to mingle with other travellers. Always warm and clean.

They were very friendly and recommended me some great places to eat and drink in the area. Overall, a chill place to stay if you're looking for a hostel. I was also the only guest in the hostel so it seemed like I had the place to myself.
