What a wonderful surprise to discover Hisa Ales. From the moment we entered and were greeted with a friendly face and a brandy cordial, our stay just got better. A nicely appointed and quiet room was expected at the highly rated Hisa Ales. What enhanced our experience was the food and service we received. Our dinner was outstanding – very fresh ingredients presented with flair. To accompany our meal – regional sausages and vegetables - our server recommended some brilliant local craft beers, our favorite being No Bullshit Lager. Breakfast which was included in our stay was a perfect way to start our day – a lovely assortment of fresh foods and if you desired an omelet cooked for you. However, what made our stay special was the exceptional service we received. From checking in, to our wonderful server at dinner who had excellent recommendations and a fabulous sense of humour, and to the owner that ensures his guests leave satisfied, it’s a challenge to find better. A touch off the well travelled roads, it’s a diversion well worth your time.

The location is very strategic being 15 minutes from Ljubljana airport. The host is wonderful, I have never seen such a welcoming owner! She was taking care of everything and was extremely nice and welcoming. Rooms comfortable, clean and very homely. Breakfast super with home made marmalade! I recommend this place to anybody who wants to travel to Ljubljana and stay close to the airport but also to enjoy the surroundings: Brdo castle and the nearby nature are very nice!

Anna and her family took very good care of us. The room and facilities were spotless. Provided cover parking for my motorcycle. The restaurant menu and food was very excellent. Breakfast was very nice with a lot of options. Short drive easy into Ljubljana.

Had such a lovely weekend here. We came the last weekend of March and split our time hiking and skiing. Although it was the last weekend for skiing (hence very slushy conditions), the location between the nearby resort of Krvavec and nearby mountains for hiking was ideal. The room was spacious and clean. Although the hotel is on a main street, everything was very quiet. They have a lovely dining room where we had delicious breakfast and dinner. They also have an outside patio that is perfect for Spring and Summer. Additionally, there is ample parking. I will definitely return!
