Casa dos Valentes is set in Santo Espírito. This holiday home offers free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. It was so peaceful and the house had everything we needed. We loved hearing the rural sounds, and the place was so easy to find. We were greeted as we drove up the driveway and check in was seamless. When we opened the door, we were greeted with a loaf of homemade bread, cookies, and jam from the Cooperative Bakery up the street along with milk and a large bottle of water. We cooked breakfast every morning, and when we weren’t out exploring, we enjoyed sitting on the front patio and watching the nearby cows and sheep grazing. And, given the size of the island (and the time of year we visited), we didn’t have any problem driving to Vila do Porto for more restaurant options (it was only 20 minutes away). However, we did enjoy our late morning coffee in one of the bars in the village of Santo Espirito.

In a quiet, relaxing area of Santa Maria. Property was spacious and had everything we needed. Our host was easy to contact and responded quickly to any of our inquiries. Set in a condominium next to Figueiral-Prainha Nature Reserve of the Santa Maria Island, Azores, Villa Natura is a 2-bedroom house that offers direct access to Praia Formosa. From the moment you arrive there is a feeling of being welcomed. For ever aspect of our stay Luís was there to assist, from restaurant reservations to trail info. Bella made us a welcome basket and homemade treats. For New Years there was champagne! Truly an amazing place in the most beautiful of settings.

A wonderful location to stay, we liked everything! Beautiful big house, has all the facilities you need. Nice welcome present with some bread, butter, cookies, much appreciated. Very quiet and peaceful. In the middle of fantastic nature of Santa Maria island, a convinient base to stay for hiking. Also just 10 minutes walk to the village Santo Espirito which has a grocery, bakery and 2 cafes.
