As a Uruguayan living in Sweden, I always take my vacations in Uruguay. Due to the pandemic that has become impossible, so I wanted to pick a country with a coastline towards the Atlantic and Portugal was the perfect match. I had already visited the Algarve last year and knew I wanted to live in a rural location between Aljezur and Odeceixe, so Rogil was what I was looking for. If you really, really want tranquility and peace of mind Herdade de Vagem is truly the place for you. The silence, the closeness to amazing nature like the beach of Praia do Vale dos Homes, the small country roads and friendly people. You have it all here. The host was very attentive and responsive to messages during my stay. As I was coming with food that would have otherwise been spoiled, I was allowed to check in earlier as there were no previous guests. The apartment was simply perfect for me in size. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen perfect in size. The week I stayed simply flew away. In one way or another I will come back, that is for sure.

Home Village, a property with barbecue facilities, is situated in Vila do Bispo, 35 km from Aljezur Castle, 45 km from Algarve International Circuit, as well as 10 km from Fortress of Sagres. Great little apartment with everything we needed! Set a little ways on the edge of town so it felt more quiet. We appreciated having access to a washing machines though we could have used some basic instructions. The settings on the machine were unclear, but maybe we are just not familiar with machines made for European users.

Offering barbecue facilities and quiet street view, Biscuttela Vicentina is situated in Praia da Arrifana, 500 metres from Arrifana Beach and 7.5 km from Aljezur Castle. We rented the apartment on the first floor for a month. It was easily one of the best places we've ever stayed as a family of four. The apartment is very safe for toddlers which was important for us (There's no stuff that they can break, there are not gaps where they can fall, etc.). The kitchen is very well equipped; we've found there everything that we needed (which is rare). The hosts were very welcoming and responsive during our stay. Because we'd stayed there for quite some time we've got couple of extra cleaning services which was very thoughtful.

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, A Casinha da Baía is located in Porto Covo. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony and free WiFi. We loved everything about our stay here, the location could not be better, our host was perfect in communicating and generous of heart! Far and beyond our expectations, the energy warm and comforting. Joane put a lot of attention into making sure the kitchen was fully equipped and the entire apartment and patio were comfortable and efficient! Thank-you Joane!!

Situated in Porto Covo, near Bay of Porto Covo Beach and Buizinhos Beach, Chalé da Baía is a recently renovated property, featuring, a garden and barbecue facilities. Beautiful location, very spacious and lovely balcony where you could enjoy a lovely glass of vino after a long day of walking. The owners are very nice to leave us some drinks and food. Great communication too.

Featuring a lush garden with pathways and benches spread throughout, Quinta do Paraíso is located in Pedreneiras, less than 5 km from S. Teotónio and 13 km from Odeceixe. Very helpful host (German, Portuguese, English spoken). Good location (rural setting, close to coast, a comfortable drive from Faro). Beautiful and interesting gardens. My first floor room had a private balcony. Everything tidy and cleaned daily.

Monte Da Baía Do Tonel is located 5 km from the village of Zambujeira do Mar and offer a unique sense of peace and tranquillity. So quiet, the staff were great, they made us feel like we were at home. We used a small child and it was perfect for that too. They have já a better house because there was a bigger group next to us so they upgrade us for free to a nicer apartment so that we could Be on our own. A complimentary bottle of wine was waiting for us, that was fantastic. The house had everything we needed to shower sleep, cool etc. We loved it.

Monte Chabouco - Alojamento Local is located 11 km from Aljezur in the Vicentine Coast Natural Park and is 700 metres away from the Rota Vicentina walking trail. If you love it tranquil and rural, this is the place to stay when in the area. A car is needed to explore the beautiful places like mountainous Monchique and the gorgeous beaches.

Located within the South West Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, Naturarte Rio - Duna Parque Group offers self-catering villas with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. A great quiet refuge, perfect for enjoying time as a family. The 2 Br unit was a perfect size for our family of 4, and the breakfast each day was huge and excellent. My kids loved greeting the farm animals each morning and we enjoyed the nearby hiking trails.

Set in Vila Nova de Milfontes, Monte da Palmeirinha offers accommodation with private pool, free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive.
