Located in Horta, within less than 1 km of Praia da Conceição and 2.8 km of Praia de Porto Pim, Estrela do Atlântico provides accommodation with a garden and a bar, and free WiFi. One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in 45 years of travel. Artistic and funky but also warm, friendly and totally unpretentious. The hotel is an old style property, airy and light with big windows and views to the Pico volcano. It is like a gem of an oasis amidst more recent development on the edge of town, but is only ten mins walk down to the big square and port. Breakfast in the spacious dining room is exceptional and the ladies who run the hotel are charming and helpful. We had the extra benefit and unexpected bonus of the Suite, which was like having your own flat with a terrace! There are some trendy restaurant options down the hill with good food - but rather pricey wine, but we found a couple of traditional older places (Medalhas & Lima) that we liked. For whale-watching, Naturalist are a good science-based outfit and if you are short of time or transport they do an excellent half day island tour too - very informative and not touristy. You can do both in one day!

Located in Horta and only 1.8 km from Praia da Conceição, Alice´s House provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Needless to say the VIEW!!! I couldn’t believe my luck when I entered my very spacious and comfortable room and saw that view from the French door and the terrace! I had the sunrise, the full moon, glorious Pico, the sea, the meadows, the birds, the lights of the port all in one amazing picture right in front of me. The weather was on my side too! I always close all shutters and go for the dark when I sleep, but not at Alice’s house! Impossible to block the view! The room itself was also perfect, comfy bed, two types of pillows (memory/hard and soft), spacious wardrobe and chest of drawers, TV (not essential for me but there is one), excellent shower, very hot water, BIDET! And in the communal living room: extra towels, hair dryers, coffee and tea and biscuits, kettle, mugs, glasses, fridge. Perfect for breakfast (I didn’t use this facility but I appreciated that it was available). You can par on the road (which is on the way to the Caldera, by the way) or in her parking space in front of the house (steep entrance). On arrival I was welcomed by Alice, super nice and super cool! I saw her just on arrival but if I needed anything, she left her number in the room. So lucky to have stayed in her beautiful house! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Located in Horta, Casa BuonVento offers a shared living room. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and luggage storage space, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Everything was absolutely wonderful! Elena and Jerry really go the extra mile. The house is full or Jerry’s art, which gives it a nice homey touch. You can tell that they love what they are doing. Also if you have any questions about Faial they have the best advise. We tried out all recommended restaurants and coffee shops and they were all good. We would come back any time. Situated in Horta, the recently renovated Mar Rosa - Terraço Vista Praia features accommodation 1.4 km from Praia de Porto Pim and 2.1 km from Praia da Conceição. The property is a house overlooking the beach, the rooms themselves don't have the oceanview per se but have access to a terrace that does. It was clean and the lady who runs it, Alice, is very nice. Location is also very close to the center of town and nice restaurants and right behind a hiking trail along with the whaling/whale oil museum.

Located 1 km from the centre of Horta, Vila Odette offers a garden boasting views of the sea and mountain. Free WiFi is available and free private parking is available on site. wonderful view, great place to stay

Located 1.4 km from Praia de Porto Pim and 2 km from Praia da Conceição, Casa de Hóspedes Porto Pim provides accommodation in Horta. I liked everything in this nice studio appartment. Great location, close to everything and still a quiet area. Has also a balkony with a view.

BELO CAMPO - Ilha do Faial (Horta) in Castelo Branco, Faial Island, provides accommodation with a garden and a shared lounge. The host, José was very kind and friendly. He helped us in everything. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good. Beside that the airport is in front of the apartment it was quiet during the night.

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Casa da Baía - Guest House offers accommodation in the Faial Region, 42 km from Pontas Negras. A TV with cable channels are featured. The location of this guesthouse is right center in the city, and it has both a reading lounge, pantry and balcony for those looking to relax or work. The staff were also friendly. We had luck in having the available room at the highest floor, overlooking the marina and Pico. Definitely would return and stay here again.

Featuring a garden and views of sea, Porto Pim Guest House is a recently renovated guest house located in Horta, 1.4 km from Praia de Porto Pim. Very clean sweet renovated home. Everything we needed was there. The bedroom was small with private bathroom and air conditioning , it met our needs . There is the option to sit outside and the shared space is very inviting . It feels like home . I would definitely come back again !
