One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in 45 years of travel. Artistic and funky but also warm, friendly and totally unpretentious. The hotel is an old style property, airy and light with big windows and views to the Pico volcano. It is like a gem of an oasis amidst more recent development on the edge of town, but is only ten mins walk down to the big square and port. Breakfast in the spacious dining room is exceptional and the ladies who run the hotel are charming and helpful. We had the extra benefit and unexpected bonus of the Suite, which was like having your own flat with a terrace! There are some trendy restaurant options down the hill with good food - but rather pricey wine, but we found a couple of traditional older places (Medalhas & Lima) that we liked. For whale-watching, Naturalist are a good science-based outfit and if you are short of time or transport they do an excellent half day island tour too - very informative and not touristy. You can do both in one day!

The location of this guesthouse is right center in the city, and it has both a reading lounge, pantry and balcony for those looking to relax or work. The staff were also friendly. We had luck in having the available room at the highest floor, overlooking the marina and Pico. Definitely would return and stay here again.

Doté d'un jardin et offrant une vue sur la mer, le Porto Pim Guest House est une maison d'hôtes récemment rénovée située à Horta, à 1,4 km de Praia de Porto Pim. Guest House très agréable, la chambre était très propre et confortable, ainsi que la salle de bain. Nous n'avons pas rencontré l'hôte, mais il était très réactif par message via Booking. Merci à lui. Les espaces communs étaient également très propres et confortables.
