Ideally located in the centre of Kyoto, Kokonoe Machiya offers air-conditioned rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a shared lounge. The best stay I had in Japan. All the facilities are clean and comfortable. The owners are super friendly, full of useful tips and offer valuable advice and just general insight about Japan and Kyoto. Every morning they prepare traditional Japanese breakfast for free. I hope I get to come back at some point.

Set in Kyoto, less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station and 1.5 km from the centre, Woman Only Guesthouse Nanohana (Female only) offers air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and a shared lounge. everything! the guy at the reception is the kindest! the guesthouse is clean and cozy! I totally recommend it! I had a private room with futon and the bathroom was shared, but bathrooms are so clean that it wasn’t a problem at all! Also there’s everything you need, towels, soap, shampoo etc. there are also some snacks in the common room:) last thing, position is great as well!

Offering air-conditioned rooms in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, situated between Kamogawa River and Takase canal, Hazuki Kyoto is 20 minutes stroll from Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Gion District. Amazing hospitality and beautiful historic home refuge away from the super bustling areas. Nice taste of quieter residential living close to the river. Our host was amazingly helpful and gracious. We loved the Japanese bath as well. Also happy to meet “shin” 🐕

4 km from Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Guesthouse Kyoto Arashiyama is located in Kyoto and provides free WiFi and express check-in and check-out. The landlord is utterly kind and nice. It's a true Japanese living experience, including the futon, and the typical Japanese bath. The position is great, right in front of the Toei park, and close to convenience stores and the transportation.
