Nicely renovated japanese house in the old part of town, about 10 minutes from the imperial palace. Toni and his wife are lovely hosts, it felt like we were guests in their home. The shared facilities are clean and good. We stayed in a smart room were everything was connected, very convenient! Warmly recommend.

I totally recommend it! I had a private room with futon and the bathroom was shared, but bathrooms are so clean that it wasn’t a problem at all! Also there’s everything you need, towels, soap, shampoo etc. there are also some snacks in the common room:) last thing, position is great as well!

Offering air-conditioned rooms in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, situated between Kamogawa River and Takase canal, Hazuki Kyoto is 20 minutes stroll from Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Gion District. Amazing hospitality and beautiful historic home refuge away from the super bustling areas. Nice taste of quieter residential living close to the river. Our host was amazingly helpful and gracious. We loved the Japanese bath as well. Also happy to meet “shin” 🐕
