Facing the beachfront, そらやまゲストハウス Sorayama guesthouse offers 2-star accommodation in Ino and has a shared lounge, garden and terrace. Our best stay during our three week Japan trip in 2024 with 8 people in total (including a toddler and kindergarten aged kid). The hosts are very nice, the breakfast and dinner they provided for us was exceptional, and the view from our room was great, too. They take great care to be ecologically mindful. Everything was very clean. The owners also provided us with valuable info on what to do during our stay in Kochi, so we had a blast exploring the beautiful nature surrounding this guesthouse.

Situated in Shimanto-cho, EkimaehouseSamaru is a recently renovated accommodation, 13 km from Kaiyodo Hobby Museum Shimanto and 24 km from Monjudo Temple. The guesthouse and the neighborhood are amazing. The owner is one of the nicest and warmest people I have met. The bed was even nicer than that of a much more expensive ryokan. The train ride to the guesthouse was scenic, the location of the accommodation is perfect, the eateries nearby are all good. The place itself was spotless with a really nice shower room. Everything was perfect. I can't recommend it enough.

Situated in Konan in the Kochi region, Guesthouse Suisennosato features a garden. I loved the hospitality that I received there. The owner of the lodging went above and beyond in making sure that I was comfortable and provided for. Today I left early for my pilgrim walk and did not have breakfast. The lady sent me a message and brought me the food and additional lunch 30 km away. She just did it out of the kindness of her heart. She did not need to do that, but she did. It was also raining yesterday and I did not want to leave the room. she brought me lunch on her own initiative. She is smiley and helpful and kind and the place is super clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this accommodation for anybody.

Located a 12-minute walk or a 3-minute bus ride from JR Kochi Station north exit, Katsuo Guest House offers Japanese-style dormitory rooms with air conditioning. Maki was so friendly, welcoming and helpful! She recommended local restaurants for dinner, and invited me to join the tacoyaki party they were having that evening. The 8 bed dorm was lovely- gorgeous wood beds and cool decor. The beds were comfy and private. I was lucky since there were only 4 of us in the room, but I think it would be spacious enough even if it were full. Definitely the nicest guesthouse I’ve stayed at in Japan.

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace, Washi Studio Kamikoya is located in Yusuhara. We brought the groceries for dinner up from the supermarket in Yusuhara and prepared it in the guesthouse. There are no shops nearby - best to prepare in advance and make sure you have what you need. A delicious breakfast was provided and waiting for us in the fridge when we got up in the morning. We prepared the eggs and enjoyed everything with the fresh-baked bread.

Guesthouse boro-ya is located in Toyonaga. The property has barbecue facilities, as well as a garden. Guests can enjoy mountain views. At the guest house, each room has a terrace. Very peaceful and beautiful location. Surrounded by mountains, trees and seas of clouds. The night sky was the most beautiful we have seen in our lives. Yancy was a very nice and friendly host.

Located in the mountains surrounded by nature, Guesthouse En is located in Ochi at an elevation od 400 metres. The property features a garden and offers luggage storage space. We loved the location, it's a beautiful view from up on the hillside and you can fully enjoy it from the outdoor areas in front of the guesthouse. The house itself is lovely. We particularly enjoyed spending time in the living room. The room was cosy and we loved being able to slide open the doors and have direct access to nature. Takao is a consummate host - very friendly, excellent communication, and he has thought of absolutely everything you could possibly want.

Situated within 24 km of Daizen-ji Temple and 24 km of Nishihama Park, Haruno Guesthouse provides rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Tosa. This is a great, affordable place to stop along the shikoku pilgrimage route. I stayed 2 nights. The nights before and after temple 35, walking without a bag for that day was so nice and gave my legs a mild break with plenty of time to do laundry, clean, and reorganize my gear. Since it's so affordable it makes a great place for a rest day. Walking distance to a great grocery store and conbinis.
