We found Arazo Villa last minute due to our previous accommodation being closed for renovations. It was a blessing in disguise as we had the most incredible stay. Manori and her family were very welcoming and hospitable, always going the extra mile for us. Upon arrival we had been upgraded to a different room which gave us a beautiful view of the ocean and temple next door. The room is modern, very clean and comfortable. Hot water and AC all worked perfectly. Had a yummy breakfast every morning, enjoying the fruits from her beautiful garden. We also did a cooking class with Manori and would definitely recommend this as you get to learn and enjoy a truly authentic experience, with ingredients from her garden too. She has many spices available for purchase (also from her very own garden) and can assist with tuktuks, scooter rental and much more. Her son Hasiph was kind enough to drive us to our next destination in their car. Over all, our stay was exceptional and if you’re looking for a place to call home in Unawatuna, look no further! The steep hill mentioned in other reviews is a good way to walk off all the curry ;)

The place was very clean and well maintained. It was located around 10min walk from the beach, in a jungle. The only problem was very bad reception and super slow WiFi, but if you sat closer to the router it worked well. The typical breakfast of eggs, toast and fruits was included. The hosts were amazing, they upgraded our room without additional payment. What is more, they helped me when I needed charger after mine broke.

Loved everything about it - the place, the room, the food, the hospitality. The place - Quiet location just a few minutes away from the beach. A beautiful and well built home with beautiful architecture and rustic furniture. The room - Large and spacious with a quaint balcony overlooking the garden. Hardwood floors in the bathroom was a lovely change. Very clean as well. The food - Authentic Sri Lankan and some of the best Italian food we’ve ever had. We had dinner there every night cos we just wanted to have more. We had lasagna ala Pomodoro, spaghetti Putanesca, prawns flambé and a 5-dish Sri Lanka rice and curry meal. Things like the quality of the bread and butter served for breakfast did not go unnoticed. Big portions of the freshest fruit at every meal! The hospitality - Piyal, the gentleman who has managed Dream House for 25 years, was amazing. Such a wonderful host who was generous with his time. Had a wonderful time talking and hearing his stories. He also arranged our whale watching morning :) Would’ve stayed longer if we could. Very highly recommended!!
