The apartment was on the edge of the Sassi district and a very short walk to the centre of Matera, in a very quiet street. The host had left a bottle of wine, milk, cereal, tea, coffee…enough to get us started. We were very grateful. The kitchen was well stocked, and there was plenty of linen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in there….it was charming.

It's really worth taking the time to stay in Matera and experience it at night when the daytrippers have gone, and how better to do it than in a cave room? The Cave Rooms are in a great location, easily accessible from the station, and my room had a beautiful view of the Duomo. Check in was really easy and Nunzio was a great host with lots of helpful ideas and suggestions from my stay. I would definitely stay here again on a future visit.DaveSolo traveler

Host even sent me pictures so I’d recognize all access points of the property. Very quiet area with all amenities very close. We were able to catch a metered cab from the bus station which cost us about 12€. He gave us his card & picked us up when we had to leave for the same price back to the bus station.
