The Black Rock House was exactly what I needed after a long journey from New Zealand. Clean, tidy, well-equipped, spacious, and not to mention the host, Vincent, was incredibly helpful and accommodating (and cooks a great breakfast). The house isn't in the centre of Hastings, but it's a reasonable and straightforward walk into the town.

Amazing, amazing, amazing... I didn't believe that this type of hotel existed. The welcome and staff were very friendly. Clean and quality rooms. Like in the old days, like from a movie, you have to experience this, together with the surroundings, it's an incredible experience.
