Wonderful, warm and welcoming. I wish we could have stayed longer. Historic touches everywhere! Clean, quiet rooms and a lovely breakfast. The location at the edge of small town near the hiking trails was perfect for us.

Quiet, hostel (=alberg) & family room was in a youth hostel style, but fine and suitable for the night. Recently refurbished, small but very clean with a good shower. You can bring your own food and store it in a fridge in the community kitchen. Cooking there is also possible. Nice lobby. Great breakfast buffet included. You get a parking fee discount.

Understand that everything up there -- shops, restaurant (only one mediocre place, albeit with good service and excellent wine), cafeterias, hotel, apartments, hostel -- is under the same management. So if you want to stay up there - and really to appreciate one of the world's great holy places, you should -- you have to take what they offer and the apts. are the cheapest option.
