It felt like we were living in a country garden paradise! we were surrounded by beautiful flowers, helpful and friendly staff, picked fresh apricots and plums from the trees. Breakfast was beautiful in the garden and the staff helped with dinner reservations at local restaurants.

Quinta de Santa Julia is an enchanting place. A fairytale forest greets you and opens up to the most exceptional view of the Douro valley. The 17th century villa, breathtaking views, and amazing infinity pool are not to be missed. Eduardo was charming and generous, the family history, tour, and port was an unforgettable experience. There’s no place like this in the world!

the breakfast was amazing. I did not think it was included and yet we were served a full breakfast. Delicious and excellent service. the location was beautiful. the vineyards were spectacular and the location quiet.

Beautiful place near many wine estates and excellent restaurants. Very quite with a nice little pool to cool down or sit with a glass of wine. The hosts are really nice and attendance and the best breakfast I had in Purtogal.

Cosy B&B in a secluded quinta but close to Lamego or Pinhao. Beautifully furnished room with a big, comfy bed. We stayed here during low season but I can imagine that a visit in summer must be stunning. Very friendly staff and dog 😊

The place is an amazing little gem! It is a little family run place that only has four rooms, which makes the place feel so cosy and genuine. We felt right at home, it felt like visiting a friend with the service and facilites of a luxury hotel. The location is perfect for exploring the Douro valley. It was never crowded, we even had the pool to ourselves most of the time. Service by the little team was fantastic and felt genuine. We even had the pleasure of getting a wine tasting and tour by one of the owners himself. Thank you for an amazing stay!

The infinity pool was amazing. The friendly staff made us so welcome . The evening meal was awesome and so reasonably priced. This house was one of the highlights of our trip and I would highly recommend. The views were absolutely stunning. Joanna was the perfect host. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. Quinta de Travassinhos is a magical place in the Douro Valley with beautiful views, outstanding ambiance and exceptional hospitality. Helena & Ricardo have painstakingly restored and renovated the property into something rare and special where modern amenities and comfort meet the beauty of a working farm and vineyard. Their kindness and attention to customer service is world class, and is matched by their knowledge of the history of the area and willingness to share the stories of their journey to create their dream. While my partner and I were there, we enjoyed morning hikes through the vineyards, daily trips to regional towns, afternoon dips in the indoor salt water spa pool, and evening dinners where our hosts and staff provided upscale-rustic regional cuisine, local wines and port, and wonderful conversation with both hosts and guests. This will be somewhere we will hopefully be able to revisit in the coming years as it truly is one of our favourites of all time!

Marque was very nice and offered to park the car inside the house for us when he saw us struggle to do a reverse parking. Helping with luggage, offering beautiful port wine from his personal cellar, showing us around his vineyard, fresh persimmon, tomatoes, bread and jam are icing on cake.
