Without a doubt, it will be our top choice for accommodation on our next trip to Shanghai! While a few guests voiced concerns about the breakfast buffet in their reviews, I found the array of choices to be delightful. Although it may not boast the extensive variety like some other hotels, the selection was more than sufficient for our family. Each dish was delicious and made with fresh ingredients.

The Peninsula Shanghai is located directly opposite The Bund and a 5-minute walk from East Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street Shopping District. It features a large indoor pool, a spa and a fitness... I booked a room facing the Huang Po river and best of all I was given on with direct view of Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Just so beautiful. This makes it all worth the price to pay :-). The staffs are all very well trained, polite. Most of all Danny and Ray (I may get the names wrong but they are the only 2 guys at the concierge) are superb. Thank you.
Fairmont Peace Hotel On the Bund

With over 9 decades of history, the iconic Fairmont Peace Hotel was a favourite with the local elite and foreign celebrities, including Charlie Chaplin. The architecture and design are like no other. The hotel is very beautifully done - modern in every way, but a step back in time to the early twentieth century as well. The pastries at the coffee shop downstairs are a fabulous treat and the concierges and front desk staff very helpful.
