Charming small town, slightly off the tourist beaten track, this isn’t a bad thing! Plenty of temples to visit. Relatively easy to walk to all the main sights. People are very friendly. You don’t need more than 2 days here. We took the train from Bangkok and arrived around 3pm. Checked into our hotel and hung out. Then the next day we did a full day tour which our host set up for us and then we left the following day. I take photographs of wildlife, monkeys and monks, temples and people. So Phetchaburi kept me occupied for 16 days - I can't understand why so few people get off the train. It is just the right size to walk around, although Thanyachatra is just off a busy road that is not very easy to cross (but no traffic nose at the hotel). The locals are wonderful and once they had got used to seeing me around, I found that those who spoke English were keen to chat and helpful. The town is full of wonderful schools and happy, smiling and beautifully turned out children and teenagers.ChrisFrance - 10Scored 10

It’s my first time there ppl are so nice , the city is very clean if you love dessert it’s one of the place in Thailand that you have to check it out . I’ll be back in Nov with my daughter can’t wait to show her around .

The location is fantastic, within walking distance of everything you could want to see in Phetchaburi. There are many food and drink stalls 2 minutes walk away on the main road, as well as 7/11 and ATMs. The area feels very safe and friendly, and it is wonderfully quiet at night. The manager is caring and speaks good English. Overall it's great value for money.
