Deniyaya is an interesting city to choose to stay in, but staying at a place like the Rainforest Hideaway makes it 10x better. The town itself isn't anything much, it's got the appeal of most beautiful mountain locations in Sri Lanka, with its quaint little shops and friendly people. I was very scared when I booked the hotel that it wouldn't live up to the pictures, but I was nothing but impressed. For the price, you get an amazing experience - from the car ride up, to the sound of the waterfall through the day. I love the hosts, they were friendly, honest and made our stay easy.

This cabin is perfect for anyone who wants peace and quiet, just the sounds of nature. It is in an isolated spot surrounded by forest and the owners tea plantation.It is approached by foot..a 10 min walk from the road. The host lives about 1km away.
Ravivinder, the host could not have been more helpful, arranging transport from Colombo, forset trip,(UNESCO rain forest...15 mins to the enterance by motor bike...dont miss it !) and even took me to the bus station. He brought his mothers food over which was very good.
There was a beautiful natural pool 2 mins walk from the cabin, deep enough for swimming.
I would really recommend the cabin for nature lovers who want to escape from everything for a few days.

This place is amazing. We stayed for two nights, and felt like we could stay much longer.
The couple who run the home stay are so so wonderful. Felt like family or old friends. Super kind, helpful, and friendly. Food is delicious. Guided walk in the rainforest was fantastic. The view from the room is unbeatable. Just an all around great time, and we hope to be back!

Close to Singharaja Rain forest.
Close to Singharaja Rain forest. You have also some good tourist spots which everyone can enjoy. Choice of restaurants is less. All are basic with nothing flashy. If you are depending on public transportation it is well connected to Galle and Matara from where we can get Highway buses to Colombo. Not developed as a tourist place

Fantastic location to visit and stay couple of days for relaxation. Visiting Sinharaja forest , Patna sliding rock , off road ride to sliding rock and Sinharaja entrance at mountain peak could be very exciting.

Fantastic place I have been many times. the property has a bridge to enter that is broken for months now. no way a vehicle can enter or go up to the ticket counter due to this. vehicles should be parked about few KM off the site. Sinharaja is a heavenly place.

The room is well-equipped, private, clean and has proper Wifi. It has a really nice terrace where you can listen and watch all sort of birds pass by. We were treated like family members. They always went out of their way to make sure we are comfortable. Dumith was always happy to show us around and accompanied us all the way to Deniyaya city to make sure we get on the right bus. Highly recommended and will be back.

Good food by the mother for a fair price. Use a tuk tuk rather than taxi from Deniyaya, because the road is not suitable for a car. The host was kind enough to offer us a tuk tuk ride to our taxi driver. There are mosquito nets around the bed, use them!
