Our main activity in Germany is shopping. Since many of the individual shops gave gone in favour of chains in Palais Vest we no longer spend much time in Recklinghausen centre. We used to do 2 or 3 visits per trip. Barbara's shop is a newly found treasure trove and we did return there a couple if times, but not any other shops in the centre.

The room was small but great value for money with an outstanding breakfast included. There was a huge selection for breakfast and the staff were incredibly efficient and friendly. The hotel was smack-bang in the centre of town and convenient to everything by walking. Parking was available for a reasonable price and right under the hotel with an elevator directly from the car park to all floors.

Room had super king bed and tv and toiletries in bathroom. Family run makes a difference. They let me check in early ! Home cooked food in the restaurant and cosy beer garden out front. And the price was a bargain. What a find.

Location is not very central, but not a problem if you are by car, and the Restaurant associated to the Hotel with a delicious Greek menu is absolutely great! it makes it all worth to stay a bit off-central. Everyone did their best, during dinner and breakfast, to accommodate our gluten-free needs.

The location is the middle of the town, but it was still very quiet. The car part is directly under the hotel and easy to access.
